This 100% cotton sashiko thread in Rose Red #7 is perfect for traditional sashiko. Thinner than Olympus and Hida brand sashiko threads so it may be doubled.
The last photo shows Red #7 and #16 for comparison. #7 is a blue-red and #16 is more of an orange-red.
