The case is made of tatami-mat border material produced in Kojima, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, the largest producer of tatami-mat borders in Japan. Tatami-Beri is decorative hem cloth used to both reinforce the rim of the tatami-mat, and to visually enhance it with a beautiful design. Since tatami-mat borders are lightweight, sturdy, easy to fold, etc., they are now not only used for their original purpose but also have a variety of applications, including household goods and material for handmade items.
