This is a leather thimble for sashiko, traditional Japanese stitch. Perfect for use with longer sashiko needles.
The flexible and sturdy leather thimble provides protection but is also lightweight and comfortable. It's worn as a pad on the palm, to support the needle as it is pushed through the fabric. There is an elastic cord on the back that may be adjusted to fit your finger. I highly recommend using one of these!
