CLASS: Beginner Sashiko - Fukin Sampler

Have you ever wanted to stitch a fukin (Japanese sashiko sampler cloth), but don’t know how to start? Come join Mickey for a half-day class in the studio! Sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to start; in this class, you’ll learn how to set up and continue your project to completion. This is meant for beginners who have never done sashiko projects before and are looking for something fun, easy and small to take on the go. All skill levels are welcome in this class.

Mickey - our team’s fabric wizard - is Carol's daughter and has been surrounded by crafts (and craft accessories) since she was born. She wears many hats at KimonoMomo, ranging from retail management to building shop samples. You may have seen her dancing on our social media page or helping you find fabrics and notions at our open houses. If you’ve seen the sashiko samplers and bags around our studio, you’ve seen Mickey’s work!

Kit is included in ticket price:

- One pre-printed sampler cloth

- Sashiko thread

- Sashiko needles

Please bring a ruler and fabric scissors with you, everything else you need will be provided.

Class will be from 10am to 1pm at our warehouse and studio, located at:

1035 22nd Ave, Suite 15, Oakland, CA 94606
