Kogin – yet another diversion to keep my hands happy

Koginzashi こぎん刺し (or according to various online translations, “concentrated silver stab”) is a regional stitch technique that evolved out of its plain but fascinating older sister, sashiko 刺し子.

When people ask me where to start with sashiko, I often suggest one of these fukin (foo-keen) and tell them to pick a design they will actually finish.
