CLASS: Sock Darning Workshop (Sunday, Nov. 2)

$5 flat rate shipping within the US
Start your November with a cozy Sunday afternoon alongside Van at Kimonomomo. It’s the perfect time to tackle your sock mending pile—just before the holidays!
In this workshop, you'll learn how to darn holes and threadbare areas in your socks using common household items as darning eggs, along with beginner-friendly embroidery floss and needles to practice with.
Van will also share tips on selecting the right thread types and needles for your personal sock collection, and as you ponder you’ll have an opportunity to explore Kimonomomo’s selection of Japanese mending materials—darning yarns, sashiko threads, needles, and more.
Bring plenty of socks to work on while we sip some hot cha!
About the Artist: Over the past decade, Van’s journey through fashion has shifted from industrial manufacturing to a more intentional, sustainability-minded practice. She embraces garments with lived-in histories—mending, upcycling, and altering clothing in a slow, joyful process shaped by wear, chance, and curiosity.
Ticket price includes two color choices of embroidery threads and a needle, and reference guide/resource list to take home.
Communal scissors, bands, and household darning eggs will be shared.
This class will take place at our studio on Sunday, Nov. 2 from 12 - 2pm:
1035 22nd Ave, Suite 15
Oakland, CA 94606
If you use a GPS/Google maps, please use our neighbor, Carrie Dove Catering, as your destination to ensure you are not directed to the wrong side of our building.
